I really feel for him, I should have been starting training - and a new career with him tomorrow.

All the best to him and his family, fingers crossed.

Greg.

His condition is dire, half of his brain has been damaged and he is on life support. The prognosis, if he survives, will be severe brain damage.

Poor sodd.... One of the people from the University was away on friday, for a 34 yro with a brain haemorage that ended in a funeral.

Apparently they had not taken medical advice on headaches.

If you have problems do hastle your GP or even go and pay with BUPA if you have to it is not worth ignoring your own bod

Very sad story.

What happened? Was he out running and and his brain gave up?

My thoughts are with him and his family.

A real shame, thoughts are with him and his family, and fingers crossed he can make the best possible kind of recovery from this situation.

It really does hit home how lucky the majority of us are to have our health and fitness, and that, as in this case unfortunately it can be taken away. You just can't take it for granted that it will always be there.

Again, all the best to him.

An awful shame. It just makes you see how sudden things can take a turn for the worse.

My thoughts are with him and his family.

John Tysoe's sister

Post by johnty20 »

I am John's sister. He registered on this site on the morning of the day he collapsed whilst he was out on a run.

John had an AVM, which stands for 'an Arterio-Venous Malformation'. Which is basically an abnormal collection of blood vessels in his brain. He was born with this condition and was completely unaware of it.

I thought I would post a reply on this forum on behalf of John. The response that John has had from this forum and 'the once a marine, always a marine' forum has been amazing. I just wanted to thank you all for all your messages. I hope one day that John will be able to log onto this site and thank you himself.

Good luck with all your training and congratulations for getting into the Marines.

Gemma
