Makes you wonder...

Post by Sarastro »

...how much of what we see is a true reflection of reality.

For example, this little comparison here:

A Google image search for 'Tiananmem':
http://images.google.com/images?q=tiananmen

Another Google image search for 'Tiananmen':
http://images.google.cn/images?q=tiananmen

Spot the difference :o

(First one is via American Google, second one via Chinese Google)

"Shanghai - Internet search giant Google will block politically sensitive terms on its new China site, bowing to conditions set by Beijing in return for access to the world's number-two Internet market."

"In order to operate from China, we have removed some content from the search results available on Google.cn in response to local law, regulation or policy," Andrew McLaughlin, Google's senior policy counsel, said in a statement."

I knew the deal Frank, not surprised at all, just shows how easily everything else we see could be similarly twisted.
