Re: 500 marines

Anyone read the paper today - Navy will need 500 more marines this year to suffice the increase in the fleet. The two new air craft carriers look bloody awesome too. Somebody has been bending the truth again. (New Fr*ggin Labour probably). The fact of the matter is that the Corps will be a little o...

Never (R) Never put plastic bags on your head... they make your head very sweaty I seem to remember about 20 years ago you wearing something very strange on your head...

Lympstone doesn't do open days anymore. Budgets and security concerns have stopped it (mainly cost). Haven't done a propper one in about 10 years

We do a Familys day instead, which is by invitation only and that was yesterday (16/7/05)

They make better nurses (sorry doc) better admin wallers, comms - well a female voice on a net is far better than a hairy arse bootneck anyday. We could go on for days, but combat ie front line (not Loggies, Red Ca...

Hi The NAMET test is used to check standards of Maths and English. They are scored like this : 5/5 (maths first) and if you had this score your ability in these subjects would be low in both. A score of 0/0 would mean you have a GCSE in both subjects. You did need 0/0 to be eligable for promotion to...

Yes thats right - it all goes back to 001

In my opinion though the RM Band Service has a better way of troop numbering.
They use troop number and / year.
Thus, 3/79 troop was the third troop of 1979. This way you only have to start again every 100 years!!
