Re: Am i training enough?

The intensity of your training needs to vary so that it doesnt become too much of a routine and you are pushing your body hard. For example when I was a young lad putting myse...

Re: SF secrecy

NI. as straight forward as that. As for the top ten hit parade of special forces - bin it. Who comes up with these evaluations? Superbeings that have served in all 3? (i.e NZ, OZ, BRIT). End of the day the concept is British, we have been going the longest, picking up the experiences and cross overs...

Re: Joining the Royal Marines, but is my tattoo 'excessive'?

Re: 2 Squadron selection tests.

When I was in the RAF Reg it was basically the same course content as the Para's 'P-Coy' as I enquired with the PTI who ran the RAF's pre para. His response was (knowing Id done it with 4Para) 'You gotta do it all again har har har'. I have also been told by a mate that it still is the same. Prior t...

Thatcher ran the country on 4 hours! I run my company on 4 hours kip too! when i was a recruit initially Id be flapping away till the early hours sorting my kit and making it all prim n proper for the next days inspection/parade. Re: Advice needed from ex-para and current para!

You will probably get the odd comment and banter from fellow recruit and training staff alike. If you can handle it and carry yourself well like you say then it wont be an issue. Just be prepared for name calling galore.

[quote="timex"]Army........Amalgamate The Para Regt with either the RAF Regiment (God forbid) or the RM. Raf Reg aint whipping boys. Good at what they do and (personally) gettin fed up with people unfamiliar with both sides of the coin coming out with throw away statements. you know full w...

Re: Is 21 too old to join the army?

No. Check out the age limits and you will discover 21 is well within the criteria. If anything you will have the advantage over the usual 'straight from school' (normaly a doofus) in that you will be hopefully more fitter, stronger and mentally robust . Mentally robust meaning more mature and not wa...
