Have you tried doing pyramids? EG: for press ups try doing. 10 then rest for 10 seconds, then 15 and rest for 15, 20 etc. etc. until you get to the 'uncomfortable' zone, then work your way back down - 25 rest for 25, 20 rest for 20 etc. Some people on here have said they are very good for improving ...

I personally found that switching from running on the road to running on grass has eradicated this problem. I run around one of the football pitches at my local school which also helps me keep track of distance covered quite well. I know that I will have to run on the roads at the PRMC though so I'm...

Some people will be able to eat crap and still be very fit and strong using just training. However, the body is like any other complexed bit of machinery (say for example, a car engine). You can do all the modifying you like - adding turbos, coolers, injections systems, etc. etc. (much like weight l...

If you're set on joining, I would say apply now. I wanted to do something like this when I was nearing the end of my GCSE's but I decided to go to college first. I wasted 2 years of my life doing this. Don't get me wrong, I had a great time, made some great friends and did get 3 A Levels (although p...

Apologies in advance for the level of detail but I think this may actually have some relevance. I usually never have sex before an important rugby game (or other important exercise) as it does seem to drain the energy out of me as said before. However, I did have 'a good session' with the mrs one mo...

Cheers guys , nice to feel welcome.

You will need a minimum of 67cm door width to get the bar in. Bear in mind the thickness of the door when you do this.

Cheers

I usually wolf down a couple of bananas when I first wake up (currently about 5:45 to get used to these early mornings!) to give me that instant hit. Then go in the garden and do some light skipping (to get the heart rate up) before stretching fully and then out for the run. Usually about 20-30 mins...

I use it on our bedroom doorway which has does have a door in. It fits fine (with the door open of course) and I have a relatively small flat so I would guess that our doors, if anything, would be smaller than average. I will measure the distance between the two folding bars when extended tonight an...

Does that mean that if I start training in say Sept/Oct, I will get the Christmas break off?
I thought I would be slogging my guts out on Christmas day at Lympstone.

The Powerbar

I have the Powerbar mentioned in the first post and it is pretty good. I did have concerns about it when it arrived as it does look thin, the reckon it will take 16st of weight though (I weigh just over 12). The pressure put on downwards on the of the door architrave is minimal, the way it is design...
