The Making of a Para - Will It Be Rewritten?

Does anyone remember that book? It was such a good one. Now that almost everything has changed, i.e training at Catterick, 16 Air Assault Brigade, only 1 TA battalion etc, perhaps it might be worth getting the book rewritten, especially in light of such events as Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Afghanistan, a...

It's much better than the gym, in terms of actually working out. I only go to a gym to: a) stare at birds b) get a decent shower (mine's on the blink) c) have an extension to my social life with, hopefully, more birds Look at the BMF website at www.britmilfit.com and it'll tell you where your neares...

BRITISH MILITARY FITNESS (BMF)

I just started training with these guys and they are superb. All the instructors are ex service personnel, most of them current or ex army, RM or TA. - The sessions last for 1 hour - It's based on standard army/RM circuits - They don't shout and swear as if you are week 1 recruits. Instead they enco...

Another book I've just finished is Eye of the Storm by Peter Radcliffe. He was the RSM of 22 SAS during Gulf War 1. However, he first enlisted in the Parachute Regiment, and gives a brief account of his time (1 Para, I think). The book is very well written. I highly recommend it.

Boxing in the Paras

As the name suggests, I love my boxing! What's the boxing like in the Paras? Are there opportunities to box for the Army & the Combined Services? How does boxing in your coy, battalion etc fit in with one's normal life in the Paras?

Yep, I agree with you on that one. Having been a victim of bullying myself at school, I know what it's like, as I never fought back. But I still stand on the fact that Kip should have left with dignity. Yes, it's jacking it in, but at least you have the good grace to admit it's not for you. I don't ...

I didn't see the bit where Binks/Banks runs back in after Kip's headbutt to fight another bloke. Was that on Privates Exposed on ITV2? Kip's taking the piss though. 3 weeks of being a lazy nobber and it was bound to get ugly after a while. The fact he was being slow getting his jacket sorted whilst ...
