Blokes picked for SD, (usually stripeys and above) dont do the YO's course they just go and sit an AIB, and if succsefull get made up.

What they are getting at is once you have passed out, then go Corps commision and subsequently fail the YO's course you are binned from the Corps, and can not go back to being a Marine, just a gopping Civie.

I supppose if its not broken dont try and fix it, is the moral to that story.
