Harry, When you say that 'all' serb soldiers are guilty by association i believe you are correct. But that in itself is one of the sad things about such cruel and deep hatred fueled wars. Such attrocities commited on both sides and from the top up, must, we have to imagine, have an incredible effect...

SYB, Well done for a great effort (and to all involved), your doing a top job and creating awareness for something that really needs to be sorted out. I recently lost my best mate towards the end of last year when he took his own life, he was 20 and had recently returned for Iraq, and was due to dep...

I don't know Steven Preece. Couldn't pick him out in a line-up. I haven't read his book/s and I'm probably not likely to. I don't know what he's like or how he conducts his life - quite franlkly, I couldn't give a toss. What I do know is that on these forums he has been a calm poster and a gent, ev...

Re: The acctual role of an officer
Got afghanistan mixed up with Iraq easy mistake to make  No it isnt an easy mistake to make at all, they are totally different countries, and for someone who is on a military forum making comments about troops involvements in various conflicts to have no idea of the two being different is qui...

And yet the marines aren't in Afghanistan the more dangerous theatre  Holy uninformed expletive Batman! Aren't in Afghanistan?! I have an inability to suffer idots, so I'd normally post something that embodies the rage I would normally be feeling at reading a post like that. Unfortunately tho...

PRM, Only a suggestion, but i would certainly look a little outside the box on this one. Dont just concentrate on the 'war on terrorism' in terms of who the allies are fighting against in terms of military action (Afghan/Iraq) or indeed ideological (Iran?? Terrorist groups) terms. What problems do t...

Gimpy, I assume you meant me?? I left as i was in two minds as to whether i should have gone to uni or joined up in the first place. The AFCO leant me in the direction of joining there and then, and i think for me it was the wrong decision at the time. But in a way im glad i did join and leave as i ...

One thing you have to remember is that each training team does do things a little differently to the next. The facts are that some troops have things a little easier than others in terms of beastings and priviledges and so forth. What has to stay the same for everyone though, is that each troop rega...

Re: Memories of the RM Printers Branch
a series of heavily vieled threats were sent to all the Printshops warning that if they were caught then they would be Court Martialed. Like True Bootnecks we did the decent thing and totally ignored the warnings. I could see the end of that sentance a mile away but it still made me laugh. Cheers A...
