Massey.....what a charmer you are!

Maybe instead of pulling 'fat birds' and getting 'hammerd' you could develop your literacy skills.

Far more useful!

People might be quite happily ensconced in THEIR units by now.

My son did his basic last year. His kit list stipulated a certain amount of civilian gear.... a couple of shirts, trousers, smart shoes etc. Being a dutiful mother, I packed him of to Pirbright with far more than was necessary and it turned out that they were told to keep it all packed up anyway as ...

Sneaky's Adventure.

Sneaky, I couldn't let the moment pass without some sort of formal recognition. You and your bits will will be in my thoughts this week. I have ordered a job-lot of baccardi and DIET Coke to be delivered to your bedside by skimpily-clad hand maidens before, during and after your ordeal. Lots of Love...

There were four when my son passed out from Pirbright last year; best shot, best at PT, most improved recruit and best overall recruit.

Good idea about the piggy-bank, Sticky. That is my intention, but there is a newly-16 year old fashion queen in the house who can always find interesting and inventive ways to dispose of my disposable income. I stopped a few years back when the kids were a lot smaller and managed to finance a...

A charming thought. Hill sprints? Hmmmmm. If the fags don't see me off, that certainly would. Hibernation has helped and I've used the post-Christmas weather/ credit card bills/ SAD as a convenient excuse to be anti-social but one payday further on and the nights getting shorter, I've exhausted that...

Nosmo King.

Is anyone else trying to kick this evil habit? I have managed to survive since three am on New Year's Day without lighting up..... almost. I have avoided the boozer, the back doorstep at work..... anywhere i might be tempted. As a fully paid up, card-carrying member of the smoking fraternity ...

Protocol-wise a mayor is saluted as he/she is the Queen's representative.

In practice I find this excruciating as, for example, at the Remembrance Day Parade it appears as if we all (councillors) are being saluted on the march-past.

It's the mayor...... not us peasants...... who is saluted.

Nope.

Last I saw of it was on my grandmother's lawn circa 1974.

'Tis a late, lamented phenomenon.

Ooooer...... have you got a dog, Dante, or are you thinking of getting one?

I am seriously considering a Chihuahua.

Now, cats ..... a completely different kettle of fish.....

My family has always had Boxers. I recognise the 'don't let them drink sea water' phenomenon, Cliodna. My bro-in-law had unspeakable stuff to clear out of the back of his firm's car (top Jaguar salesman in the north west) when they took Alfie (dog) to Shell Island for his first birthday! And one of ...

Apparently so, Grimey.

Unless the lad is having a right good laugh at my expense.

He passed out, Pirbright May 7th 2004, Royal Artillery.

He has had two shots at P-Company since then ... and was told yesterday he got through. :D :D :D

Oh dear..... I really don't want to be dragged into a face-off. But seeing as I 'Googled' many months ago as a new recruit's parent and this forum was spat out immediately as a result and has been a total Godsend (despite some early argy-bargy) I suspect there are a lot of folk in similar circumstan...

Directly underneath this topic.

Off at a bit of a tangent, (but hey, I am getting very brave,) I struggled to find the 'families' section over the weekend. Speaking as one who has, no doubt, been awarded this coveted prize, I am keen to not interrupt the stuff which goes on on the subscription forums, but still want to ask daft qu...
