One thing tho, after the 3 miler, they kill you with those press-ups. 10 - 1 holding after every set, the guy next to me got to his last one and couldnt push up anymore, i was like wispering to him trying to give him determination, but he really couldnt push up, he was in the down position for ages ...

Ah i see, yeh then it probably was a bit different back then.
But yeh i have some friends going as officer, i dont agree with it really, i think everyone should start from the bottom, but nm really, so long as they do their job :)

No it is possible to join as an officer, even on the forms you fill in it asks you to tick a box, commissioned or non-commissioned. Are you sure he wasnt saying that its better to go in and earn your commission, cause you gain more respect by earning rank instead of going in as an officer. :wink:

The 3 miler has no hills at all, its basically all flat. Slight raise in the ground but its absolutely nothing! and of course you cant walk, but the PTI doesnt sprint off and say beat me back, he runs it back so that he comes in within exactly 22.5 minutes, if your infront of him you know your gonna...

Mate i wouldnt worry about the 3 miler, they are not looking to see who comes first in the run back, what they do is your run in a squad for a mile and half, then he stops you and says ok off you go, and you all run back, he runs back aswell and he lets you know that as long as you stay infront of h...

Nice post darren, not looking forward to 5 mile runs, i get so puffed out after a 3 mile run! :-?
But yeh i start on the 21st of Feb too, im not sure what our troop number is but my ACFO has told me briefly but i cant remember i have 839 troop in my head for some reason tho.
