Letsrole, Im not being funny but to be honest the OTC is an entirely different world to the RMR, they are not comparitable. The RMR are training lads who could theoretically be serving if Afghanistan or Iraq in 14-18 months time from the start of thier RT. So yes of course, harbour positions are ext...

Sounds like a plan letsrole, then you have everything covered, id definately go with the RMR at some point. As for the norm yeah that sounds about right, phys plays a huge part on any exercise, from the beggining insertion speedmarch or yomp and to the end extraction phys, again march or load carry,...

Addiction, i'd think about what you are saying before you mouth off like that about any branch/regiment/corps. There are many non-Para/RM/SF lads doing a fine job out in Afghan and Iraq at this very second risking thier lives the same as any RM does. You have not completed Infantry training in the A...

You do alot of paperwork for pay etc and what not as soon as you get to CTC, but if you havent got it, you havent got it. I doubt it will be a major problem, you,ll just have to get it sent down to you ASAP, might be worth mentioning to your AFCO though.

Everybody's nervous Vost and deals with it in their own way. Part of the difficulty is that waiting for it, the day before, on the train, you can't do anything about it. I feel wrong about it but I gained strength and confidence as people started dropping out. Try not to think about what's in store...

'Sit in' on a few excecises down on woodbury and i think you may change your mind Letsrole, sitting in a period or lecture on camp or at a det is one thing but out in the field it is a different ball game. Like i say, my mate, who i trust one hundred per cent left the OTC after 18 months and went to...

letsrole, As i have said, 'thats what i have seen of them', but i have to say the guy who i lived with for two years first of all went to the OTC and i believe it may have been the Oxford one, i may be mistaken (he was from university of Gloucestershire), and he then left to go to the RMR and says y...

Agree with Smudger here, some people just are not fast at running, but they can run, and run, and run. It is not the only indicator of fitness being able to run fast and certainly not a be all and end all of as to whether you,ll pass PRMC or even RT for that matter. Two of the guys i stayed in touch...

Personally i wouldnt even glance at the OTC, they are a bunch of wasters as far im concerned and i imagine only 1 per cent of them ever go on to do anything in the Armed Forces. Thats from what i have seen of them anyway....just a fun club for people to have a laugh. I,d go RMR all the way, remember...

I agree with a bit from both sides here. I can see that on many occasions one liners as such can be a nuisance, but on the other hand i also see them as almost having to happen. I mean with the likes of Felias passing his RT and earning the Green Beret, people are of course going to want to congratu...
