If you can find any ex chefs they will be able to help. No one has ever passed the course so I reckon they will struggle massively when they leave the Armed Forces.

The fact that you are in the Cadets means absolutley nothing with regards to your medical suitabily for the ARMY. Your right eye is your shooting eye. You can appeal against the decision but not against the standards. You can't prove anything, because if you don't make the medical standards you have...

If you are lucky they will send you away and give you a 2nd chance at a later date. But if you cant do it, dont go.. Tell your recruiter you dont feel ready yet and you need more time. 1 of the army core values is integrity, they will rather you admit you arent ready before wasting their time. But ...

You get free dental care once you are in. However, there is a standard to be achieved at the recruitment stage and if you are below this you will be required to sort it out yourself prior to entering service.

Why not have a look on the RN website (google it) or even join Rum Ration (www.navy-net.co.uk/) where you can ask these type of questions to serving and ex-serving royal navy people as well as naval recruiters.
