Gudwin, As mentioned by dave, it really does sound like an overuse injury, what of course we cant say. Even if it isnt, and its simply a pain that may go away, the advice about NOT running everyday STILL stands. Rest days, especially those that rest 'impact' on your body (such as running), are very ...

dwarfy, Once you've passed mate, you'll wonder what the fuss was about. Seriously, the driving test itself isn't that hard, nerves is the biggest problem I guess. Good luck with the re-take, sounds like you have it mastered. I hope I haven't come across as big headed in my post, no offence intended...

Yeah all i meant with my age was that in being older and more mature im aware that i will by no means 'no it all' when i pass my test. With that in mind i wont be going out driving like im Luis Hamilton, therefore when i do make the mistakes you make when still 'learning', i'll be in a position for ...

Massive thread hijack, But, as ive got both druadan and para01 here i thought i'd ask as i think they may have some info. Yeah you may aswell mate, you'll be able to get it down there from the NAAFI or wherever but you might not have that much time on your hands so get some before you go. Have you been issued boots yet? If so go out in them a) to wear them in and b) you can establish where your likely to get blisters b...

Its zinc oxide tape for your feet, to simply add a bit of extra 'skin' to stop blisters. It works for some people, not for others, blisters are something you might just get regardless im afraid. As for the black masking tape or 'maskers' it will be for squaring away any loose straps on your bergen o...

Not really mate.Even with the large commitments that are now being made by Reservists, from the feedback i have heard, in the majority of cases, you are able to carry on with your civilian career with 'little' hinderence. I say that some what loosely as of course there is a distrurbance to it, for b...

Phoenix, Just to say, with regards to deploying as a reservist, you arent looking at simply the length of the tour as the duration you would be mobilised for. You mentioned 6 months away from your civilian job, it would be very much more like a year in total, possibly more. The guys at my unit who s...

I doubt this is a wind up, and personally i dont think he is 'gobbing' off. He has clearly stated he respects the knowlegde and experience others have regarding training for the 'military' and training for 'combat' fitness once in, but to be fair to him he has not said he is an expert or even a novi...

Fair one mate, why not go to college enjoy yourself, get some qualifications, some life experience and then go for it after?

You can use your time to really get your fitness up to scratch aswell whilst your at college without too much pressure regarding time constraints.

Enjoy it!
