Assuming the tour dates are still more or less in sync with a couple of years back, they'll go out September-ish, so PDT probably starts now, although the mandatory bits probably not for another month or so...but that is all guess-work on the time-scales I've worked to in the past, best bet is to sp...

Some already in theatre, excellent bits of kit, as you rightly say much improvement over WMIK (which I assume you meant, SNATCH was designed for NI and was only ever used in the Middle East due to lack of wagons - this is primarily a WMIK replacement as far as I'm aware).

No return of service on sigs, but as I said you'll be lucky to get through the course and to 40 in time to catch enough of PDT to get out this summer. Drafty's number, try your UPO or Asst Adj, both of whom should also be able to help you with your draft, though obviously they'll have your own unit ...

AT take all forms, and usually there is a fair degree of choice. Doing civvy parachuting isn't particularly common (though not rare). But to be honest, that really should be the least of your worries!

Fair few blokes fresh from training have ended up with Base Coy drafts over the last couple of years, simply because the unit's deployed/about to deploy as they join. 40 are out in the summer aren't they? Have you done Herrick already? If not you're really pushing it time-wise as they'll already be ...

SAS or SB for that matter no longer wear unit insignia on the uniform as far as I'm aware, only giveaway is belts and berets (neither of which would be worn on exercise).

HALO wings? Never knew there were such a thing. Are SFSG now doing HALO to jump with them?

there is only one infantry and that comes from the army Last time I checked the Corps is classed as a light infantry formation, and is often referred to as amphibious infantry (though I stand by to be corrected if this is no longer the case). Although I take your point that if you are referring to ...

Correctable vision is acceptable to certain extent in both Her Majesty's Corps of Royal Marines and Infantry regiments, although certain trades within them may not be. Depends on how bad your eyes are, I'm sure the standards required are on the relevant websites, if not it's an easy one for the AFCO...

Just looked it up, knew it was in my notes somewhere; death penalty for high treason was abolished by the Crime and Disorder Act 1998, coincidentally the same year as the Human Rights Act. Europe would have a heart attack if someone was maintaining the death penalty.

Nice boat
