It's for the whole army, not just the Paras. They're short of recruits so they're letting everyone have a crack at it, not just young 'uns. However, the Paras' standards won't have changed, so they'll still have good quality men training to be paratroopers. Age means nothing. If you're fit enough, y...

I'm 30. Might do an S type for 12 months as I'm training in TA, but getting restless at work, and could do with some time out.

There's a thing called an S Type Engagement where you can go to the regs from TA for a certain period. I'm not sure if you'd have to go through recruit training though.

I've just posted a link for the 16 AAB's website, and in the photo section there's a section for what looks like a pre-P Coy build-up course run by the Brigade. Could that be what you're after?

16 AAB - Website

Was just looking around the Brigade's website, and noticed that they've done it up quite considerably. Lots of pics as well, from all areas of
Brigade life. Pretty good.

The Paras TV Series (1982) on YouTube

www.youtube.com/profile?user=wayne7196

This bloke has put pretty much all of the whole series on YouTube, so now everyone can see it. I think he's still got an episode or two to download, but everything else is there. He's also put the P Coy documentary from 1992 on there as well.

Upper age limit for the Paras

Is it still 26 years old for the upper-age limit for para reg, or have they had to go with the government's new policy & take in people up to 33?

We're going out of town on the weekends Boxing. Pirbright, Catterick & that one up by Leeds all on the schedule. Yeah, Pirbright's OK - easy to get to etc, Pudsey & Catterick take much longer, so the weekends are pretty action-packed and intense coz' they leave for London early. A lot of tr...

Agree with that. I think just a 10 miler to see how you are is probably more likely. However, there are some ex reg guys who'll do it again just for fun!

There's a time limit for anyone who may have previously done P Coy who have to do it again, I think it's a certain no. of months/years. They may just get you to do a 10 miler to see how you are. Check with the PSAO first. As for trained infantry, if you've done CIC, you can go straight to P Coy, unl...

It's a well-made movie, although there's too much shaky camera-work for my liking. Trouble is, it's another movie portraying ex-reg guys as unhinged lunatics (remember Dead Man's Shoes?)
