Steve C, With regards a ships det. It is a draft, and you serve on that ship just as you would any other unit. If the ship is going into refit (which could last 2 years) you might find yourself cosseted in a lovely friendly Naval Establishment. But then again when barracks are being rebuilt, you mig...

First and foremost you must always remember the old adage Leave is a privilege, not an entitlement Leave is always taken subject to the requirements of the service and rarely to the requirements of the individual (although compassionate and unpaid are exceptions but subject to stringent conditions)....
