Had a look on the site and it's pretty gash to be honest. Obviously the fact that it's new means that the site creator will have a lack of experienced input from ex/serving Royal, but that's no excuse to be pinching all of your info from the Royal Navy site (which as most of you already know is outd...

Corps and core are pronounced the same, anyone who says otherwise is an idiot. Fact. Corps Commission candidates undertake POC and AIB and are required to complete the full 15 month YO training if they are accepted for a batch. This is the same for someone forwarded onto POC from RT or a Marine who'...

Excellent post but to be clear for anyone panicking after seeing all that, you're only likely to be asked the date the Corps (or Regiment, as it was) was created and one/two dates of Victoria Cross winners during your interviews. It's also advisable to know the four Commando tests and the time alott...

I think that ultimately if you're cut out for training then the fact that you have a degree is largely irrelevant. I have A-levels (not quite the same as a degree I know!) and I consider myself to be completely capable of achieving a degree. On top of this I passed POC and AIB last year, didn't make...

I think he means don't get a tattoo of something like the globe and laurel or commando dagger before you've passed out of RT.

If you do have an RM tattoo and somebody sees it during training you'll become a laughing stock for obvious reasons.

Thanks for the advice guys, After starting to break in the boots they're feeling nice and snug, especially with the extra sock liners. Aside from the insoles for these boots, I'm more than happy with pussers kit. I think that nowadays the line about standard issue kit being crap is a bit of a myth a...

Woohoo! Another Insole Question!

Hi Guys, I passed PRMC last Friday and as is the norm recieved a new pair of boots to break in before RT. Stores at CTC didn't have any insoles left for my size so I've purchased a set of gucci Sorbothanes. My question is this: When using sorbothane (double strike) insoles does it matter if you use ...

Brows' advice is on the mark for he main, but needs a couple of corrections: You don't do any boot runs on PRMC, only Bottom Field so I wouldn't worry about purchasing a pair of boots specifically for training. Secondly the 3 mile run on PRMC is run in this format: 1.5 miles as a squad in 12.5 minut...

Very good, sensible advice. A couple of things though I would add swimming and treading water practise in as this is alot a l ympstone. Get you breaststroke up to scratch, and practice front crawl sprints. It's all help with the BST . Also - gentle swimming can be used as "active rest" an...

"use the money you should spend on food to subscribe to a quality magazine such as Mens Health or Mens Fitness" ok - that is crap. Baz - my whole post was a piss take . I put it in bold so it's nice and clear, I knew I should have put one of those little winking smily faces at the end... ...

No offence mouse, but what you just in reference to your metabolism was complete bullshit. If your claim of currently eating "shit loads" is correct, you should be gaining. Maybe you have weight issues, or maybe you are just completely exaggerating your calorie intake. How is it bullshit?...

Ok first of all I simply asked surfingdream why he was wearing it even though he wasn't a Marine, he answered me saying that his dad was a Bootneck and he gave him it, fair doo's, that's a legitimate answer. Maybe I should have said that in my next replies but to be honest I didn't think to say it ...

Difference being whether your just a bloke wearing a t-shirt or your a walt giving it charlie big-time in your Para Sky God t-shirt. I also bought my dad a t-shirt that says 'ARMY be the best' with the A and Y crossed out. Maybe I should tell him to stop wearing it as he hasn't ever done All Arms...
