Worth remembering is that your minimum service time (4 years) doesnt start until after your 18th birthday. Not trying to put you off going for Harrogate just making a point. I would suggest having a look at doing a Public Services course at a college if you want an alternative. I have just finished ...

Ive done some research and from what ive heard, you start off by manning the guns then put in an application for OP assistant. Is this true? BUT it is put up as a job on the army careers website, w...

Qualification requirements changed
This is just a heads up to anyone whos got their sights on joining RAF. Many of the jobs where academic qualifications were not required (Supplier, RAF Regiment Gunner, RAF Police, Aerial Erector, Chef, etc..) they now require two GCSE's in English and Maths. Hope this doesnt create problems for any...

Bomb Disposal
I was wondering how you get to apply for Bomb Disposal? I know you have to start off as a Weapon Technician, but after that where do you go? Do you have to have a couple years experience then apply for it or be of a certain rank? Or is it just down to luck and where they post you? :-? If there are a...

II Squadron RAF Regiment
I plan on hopefully joining the regiment as a gunner in about a year. I know that II squadron is a para-capable squadron and was wondering if anyone knows what the raf pre-para test comprises of? Is it the the same as p-company for the Army? Also is there a restriction on eyesight, since though my v...
