The circuits run by British Military Fitness www.britmilfit.com are really good as they simulate army-style PT so you get some idea of what you're gonna get at Depot. Some of the instructors are ex Para Reg lads so they can advise you on what training you need to do before you go to Catterick. Two f...

Aren't there several types of body types. Ectomorph (which is muscular & strong) & endomorph (stocky & fat). If I'm wrong, please correct me.

Yeah, I've been on that forum and I actually looked for a review of it but couldn't find one.

Well if he was a deserter then the book is a load of lies.

The Naked Soldier - Tony Sloane

Just finished a book about a British fella in the French Foreign Legion. It's a very good read and sheds some light on how life is in the FFL, in particular 2 REP where the author served. He is honest about his time there saying how tough it can be but enjoyable at the same time. The good thing abou...

3 week fitness build up course

I was listening on the radio this morning and there was a feature on recruits at ITC Catterick doing a 3 week build-up course before training due to their lack of fitness. Is this just for enlisted soldiers or can anyone do it b4 they join?

Great vid Greenronnie, some quality footage there.

There's been some really good vids put up on YouTube of Afghanistan, in particular the firefight with the Royal Irish. Can't believe the cameraman manged to keep on filming while all that was going on!

He's in 10 Coy down London town. He's having a whale of a time, and has recently been to the Brecons for the weekend beasting himself with some of the other 10 Coy lads. There's a real sense of regimental pride, even more so now that they're going to war in Iraq & Afghanistan with the regs. Recr...

Rugby : A game for hooligans played by gentlemen. Soccer: A game for gentlemen played by hooligans. Couldn't be more right. A term i've always heard and said is "Rugby: A game for animals but played by gentlemen. Football: A game for gentlemen but played by animals." - same thing. I...

The exercises are only half an hour to an hour, so the time commitment shouldn't really be too much of an issue, and once you start training you'll start to like it and really get into it. You should do it just to get fit, and not have the spectre of the army hanging over you. Besides, when you comp...
