You'll do a BFT on weekend 1 or two. I don't mean to be offensive but 13.5 mins is very slow, you might want to miss this cadre and train like a madman and start on the next cadre in april. I ran my 1st in 10:45 when I was a recruit and this was considered pretty bad. No worries. I appreciate the h...

They should do a docu or a new series on the Paras, or a challenge, something along the lines of "SAS - Are You Tough Enough?"

That's cool. I did a BFT and it was 13 1/2 mins. Obviously loads of room for improvement. That training schedule looks like a good build-up.

Incidently, on the 1st night, will they give us a BFT. It's just that I don't wanna look like some fool coming in with the worst time, that's all.

Battalion Rotation

Now that the Parachute Regiment has moved to Colchester, how does the rotation work for the battalions. Obviously there is one on 24-hour standby. What do the other two do, and where are they at the moment? I'm not sure if any of them are in Iraq at the moment. Are there any out there?

Also, if you need advice on fitness, you need to a)get advice from this forum somwehere or b)get advice from the Paras' website.

Either way, you need to be very ready. That's why I was out after a month. Because I didn't train.

Bad Lads Army - Para Staff?

I've only just started watching BLA? Am I right in assuming that both the section corporals are ex para reg? Are any of the other staff?

I joined in 1998 when Phase 1 training was at Lichfield. I didn't do any training for it, wrongly assuming that it was all going to be a gradual build-up. Yes, it's a build-up, but you have to be pretty fit when you start, and i could see that everyone else had trained for it. I noticed that when al...
