Re: Being Gay in the army -What is it REALLY like, truthfull
To be honest who should win in a fight? Foul mouthed squadies or well trained Marines...? I think I know who (I'll give you a clue *marines*) Depends if the Marine is totally naked, covered in baby oil and comes at you with a raging hard on. I'd surrender straight away. Or distract him and knick hi...

Re: WHAT DOES PARA JOE MEAN ?
No, never heard of parajoe either. I've heard of 'paragraph' if that's any help? That's the chart thingy they use to show how well paras do on their jumps. Oh, and 'paradise'. That's a specially adapted dice to be used on board games. (Has numbers written on rather than dots, as it can be hard for s...

Who's the midget in the front?! :D I take it your late uncle was Tommy Blears? A featherweight.... (and probably looking to punch the lights out on the barber who gave him that haircut in your photo...) http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/yhst-13159482790260_2200_185266066 (here with Jackie Turpin............ t...

You will need to be able to read 6mm print from a distance of 6 metres, aided with spectacles if necessary. You will also be tested for colour blindness. If you are deuteropic or propanopic (the two most common forms of colour blindness) you will not be recruited as an electrician. Soldiers are acce...

We're not doctors on here so don't take anything we say as absolute gospel. All we can do is give our opinion based on previous experience and all you can do is fill out the forms and see what happens... However.. For my two penn'orth I'd say you will likely be told your medical history would preven...

Re: If only prisons were like this.........
I posted the first bit of this thread years ago, when the YouTube clip came out of that fella that was caught in a New York lift for 41 hours... (poor sod) I STILL wish our prisons were a little more like those of the inside of a lift, but I just found this clip the other day which I thought was hil...

Re: Infantry regiment choices
If the para role flicks your switch why go for that via the Guards route? Too much bullshit, marching, ceremonial practice, parades, more marching, brushing bearskins, boot bulling sweat nights... and between time you get some infantry drills thrown in. Why not go down the Engineers route? You come ...

Re: refused entry because of teeth ???
I would normally have bit of fun with posts about teeth and say that you've got to have a symmetrical row of gnashers and offer other 'helpful' bits of advice (gap on the left side? Get your dentist to yank out one on the right side to balance things out.... etc etc... http://www.militaryforums.co.u...

Re: Laser eye Surgery
As above, but I think you'll find the restrictions which apply to your eye surgery are consistent across the forces. btw - What sort of treatment did you have? Advice I've given previously was that LASEK surgery is something that military medic types are more comfortable with accepting, as the corne...
