Re: Rejoining after a medical discharge.

Brand new to this site! I've had my first interview and I have been booked onto a Generic Army Insight Course (GAIC) and this is the only thread that I've seen with any information about the course on it. Is there anything else you could tell me? Like, how fit were the people there? DO you have to ...

Re: Tattoo

hello i am looking on joining the RAF but i have two tattoos on both of my hands on the side. Do you think thats okay or not? It depends on the recruiter's decision about them. They might make an exception if the tattoos are small and not offensive. The best thing that you can do is just go down th...

Re: Rejoining after a medical discharge.

So i've had my final interview in the recruiting office and passed with no snags at all. My application has now been passed to a CSM at the NRC... This is completely new to me. Apparently now I just have to wait out until i'm contacted by the CSM regarding my selection. He should be in touch at some...

Re: Basic Training FEMALES..

There was so much opportunity for a blasting there and you resisted it, well done Hyperlithe ;) When I was in basic there were 8 showers in our block, and 40 men to get through them. So everyone got in the cubicles together, 2-3 in one shower stall at a time. You'd rather that than the beasting you'...

Re: Royal Marines or Para's?

Hi B Gordon. Your fitness is at a good level as well mate. Just keep it up until your selection date comes around and you should breeze it! As for your interview, i'd learn as much as you can about your chosen regiment. Only use the info the emailed you as a guideline and really dig up all the info ...

Re: Royal Marines or Para's?

The guy at the army careers office sounds like a complete lunatic! Don't really blame you if that the kind of mongspawn you dealt with! Make sure you do what YOU want and not what others think is best for you etc etc. It's your life and your career at the end of the day. I've struggled with a knee i...

Re: Royal Marines or Para's?

As far as I know there's no minimum weight for the Parachute reg. It's really tough deciding which job to go for when you've had little or no experience of them, I know how you feel! Try to gather as much information on what the job actually involves once you're out of training. I'm a firm believer ...

Re: SAS/task force 121

Most of them look like they're carrying silenced M4's and USP .45 Pistols, and not much else interesting. In Iraq the main goals of the SAS were to eliminate the threat from Saddam's scud missile systems, and to remove the upper echelons of saddam's forces from power. In Afghanistan, their role is m...

Re: SAS/task force 121

Not sure what 'Task Force 121' is mate :-? There's not going to be any information on here that you cant find by simply searching google, or even wikipedia. There are a few books out there that shed some light on the joining process and events Northern Ireland and other god forsaken areas of shite w...

Re: Rejoining after a medical discharge.

I must have impressed someone because the recruiting office have since called and invited me in for a formal interview. Bearing in mind that my RG8 has still not come back since it was deferred! They seem fairly keen, so maybe the fact that i've done this course will bode well for me from a medical ...

Re: Rejoining after a medical discharge.

May I wish you all best mate Thanks mate :) I've got back from my Generic army insight course now! It was absolutely brilliant. Basically just 3 days of phase 1 training. I put in a 1.5 mile time of 9.42 and our section won two of three competitions against the other section so I was chuffed with t...
