Congrats on your grade at ADSC it's always a good feeling passing not just "scraping through", however on topic i believe the logistic specialist would be a more varied job role than driver but there are diffrent types accoring to the British Army website such as fuel and supply specialist...

Cheer man, good luck when you start at catterick, i'll pass on the advice that the infantry at my adsc were given and that is to just hang in there no matter what, don't show them that they have got to you at any stage or they'll be all over you like a rash. Cash Upon Starting Training?

Ive heard from several friends i have within the army that when they started at Catterick were given a sum of cash (which would eventually be taken out of there first wage packet) to help them through the first 5 weeks of training, can anyone confirm this?

Well mate your DAOR is your Discharge As Of Right, which is basically the 28 days you have to discharge yourself out of basic training, after that time window has elapsed you need to serve your contract. I didnt do any press up's or sit up's which i was marked on at ADSC, we did a PT lesson but it was fairly routine, abit of jogging, sit ups, press ups and afew team games i actually enjoyed it an honistly im not the fittest of people. Alright lad, i started my application in january of this year, i go to basic on the 7th of august 2011 so its took me about 8 months to get into basic, most of that time is just waiting around for the doctors report, to do pre-selection twice, wait for the dates which were avaliable to me, plus deal...
