What is the process in becoming a member of 29 commando or 1RIFLES? Do you tell the recruiters this on the outset or is it just the pick of the litter at the end of training get to go to those units?

Basically what does a civilian optician do if you go to them with an optician form? Do they just find out what your VA is or is the process more in depth? This if for people who wear glasses.
