I think if you answered hammer, they put you up for th VMx course.
Signed up in the Bristol office. But in those days "hairy arsed sgt" was the general issue in recruiting offices.

They put all the Jocks in one room and us sasanaks used to sit in there and play "spot the word"

Fighting with the instructor !! I had the same problem on the long nav to Germany. Not my normal instructor, Capt.
