It's harder than you would think, but just give everything your all and do what you are told. Even the grenade throw and team tasks work you hard so just be prepared to dig deep.

The run isn't too bad, nice little circuit and finishes on a level straight....it's the PT session the evening before that will test your resolve as you will be pushed...hard! As for the run time, you can't time yourself on the day so try and come first and adjust your speed accordingly. It's not go...

As i said, following Phase 2 your fitness and desire will be assessed and a decision will be made to send you up to Catterick for P-Coy or not.

Good news Zoe, not too long to wait. Did they say at selection if you had to do the full medical again?

From what it costs to train a recruit, it doesn't cost the Army much to pay for train tickets and selection to make sure the potential recruit is up to the training both physically and mentally. From what i have seen, it takes around £24-26,000 to train and infantry soldier in the 26 weeks or so of ...

I think most RE trades will be around March '10. Once you pass ADSC just use the time to train hard and be as prepared as possible for Basic, time goes fairly quick.

I am a member of the 2% that didn't sail through first time. Had my screening for a heart murmur at hospital today and been given the all clear, so now waiting for ADSC take 2.

A Corporal at ADSC said they lose 10 a day through the medicals, most are just deferred and not 'failed'.

Good luck

The doctor and the nurses said that i would have to do the urine test, maybe height and weight and a brief check over forms and notes but not the full medical. Either way, got to see a cardiologist first! the fun continues : (

Deferral is not quite the end of the world...

Just got back from ADSC where i was deferred for having a heart murmur, i passed everything else in the medical and if anyone else is worried about the examination it wasn't so bad, especially the initial tests. The nurses are very friendly and understanding. I now have to be checked over by a speci...

I wouldn't go in with the idea of getting a transfer, i was told it happens but is not something that's always likely to happen. Best thing to do is decide on your three choices which it looks like you have a good idea already and then go for selection. If you prove yourself at selection you will be...
