When someone leaves the Military after 22 yrs and more, they are in receipt of a pension obviously based on rank and length of service. If that person wishes to they can apply for a War Pension (or whatever the new fandangled name is now) and if successful they can also be in receipt of that pension...

MARINES IN PAY 'BLUNDER'

I see that Commandos serving in Afghanistan have had £3,000 worth of promised wages deducted following a "dreadful blunder" by Royal Navy pay people. How is morale now? NCOs are going to lose out on a significant amount of money which B.liar promised. This is another kick in the teeth by t...

Well the Marines and the services generally have got to cater for the changing attitudes of todays society so that the wastage is kept to a minimum. What with the exten...

Troops out? Or to stay put?

It all very well saying that we/they have signed on the dotted line but as we are all aware and it is such a cheap thing to say that we are there (wherever the latest theatre hotspot is) because the Govt have said that we must go there and defend or play our part. The present Govt are split over the...

War Pension Reviews

I am at 50% after taking the VA to a Tribunal a few years ago where they increase me from the 40% that they offered me from my medical discharge from the RM's. I have always been aware that in their correspondence to me that they have always stated that I would be on a review every couple of years w...
