The figures are both all forces, and come from the lists that CNN keep updated daily on their site for both wars http://edition.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2003/iraq/forces/casualties/index.html And as such will be figures since the wars first started (Iraq: March 2003, Afghanistan: October 2001). And to be honest. Marines is just a name nowadays. I rarely hear of any amphibious operations happen in Iraq. And I doubt the Marines come to Iraq via boat. When was the Parachute Regiments last combat drop? And I think you'll find in 2003 (the invasion) the Royal Marines did go to Iraq ''in boats''.
