it depends on the unit. most of the time the Troop themselves decide on what kind of 'do' they want. ranging from an informal famlies day with a slideshow and a buffet, a piss up with the boys, or a full on blues parade.

alrite staff hows things. running isnt too bad, im pretty confident i could crack a 9 mile speed march now (not at the end of a training weekend though!) so cardio and cardio endurance isnt a major concern although isnt perfect. im struggling climbing the rope, i have reached the top with 18 pounds ...

hello,

i am currently about half way through phase 2 of RMR training and just over 2 months away from my commando course.

can any RMR ranks here tell me what phys routines they were doing in the build up for their commando course please?

im an RMR phase 2 nod and when i was down at CTCRM for the phase one course i saw lots of regular nods swanning about in Lowas! whats all that about? i assume they are allowed to wear them for classroom evolutions only and have to revert to issue boots when doing phys?

alrite mate, you have nothing to worry about. yeh, i know what you mean now, the first night/morning of the last weekend was baltic. had a few lads questioning their reasons for joining.

the written test was the RT. some people had done it at the AFCO, if that was the case then they did not resit it on the weekend.

it was made up of a literacy section, numeracy section, mechanics section and reasoning section.

there was no BFT, instead it was a controlled 3 miler where you could not overtake the PTI who was leading it. the PTI did it in 21 minute 24 seconds and i was level with him, as were most people to be honest. i did 55 push ups, but only 53 sit ups which i was dissappointed with, and 9 pull ups. in ...

relaxing is hardly the word!

enjoyable tho certainly. 46 started and about 9 failed on different things throught the weekend.
induction weekend is in 2 weeks, cant wait to get my nod beret!

alite, im on the same selection weekend as you mate. for the tests i have been told you need: press ups= 20 min, 60 max in 2 minutes sit ups= 30 min, 80 max in 2 minutes pull ups= 3 min, 6 max, no limit bleep test= min level 13 BFT(3 miler)= 10 mins 30 sec for the second 1.5 miles. the livdet course...

yeah, it is a good book, lots of nutrional info and fitness tips. does anyone have any opinions on the "AACC" fitness programme in the back of the book? any suggestions on how to improve it?
