Come on Sarastro you know that every unit has to have their drill boots bulled. I actually find it quite theraputic, dvd, pizza, etc! Field boots and normal combat boots dont have to be bulled. Just clean and brush polished so that you look smart and soldier like. And what the hell is the 1st Rifles...

1) Yes it will be a valid reason for joining. I joined the TA with them knowing full well I was going to Sandhurst and they could not have been more helpful. There was also a guy applying for RM officer, again with anyones blessing. 2) It is no problem to transfer to the army, however i can see that...

The short service commission is still for four years. If you want to transfer you have several choices. There is a cadet at sandhurst who is an ex-marine. He did his minimum time in the Marines, got out, went to uni and is now at Sandhurst. There are a couple of Navy Officers who are transferring bu...

You have to balance this. Dont tell them about a sore knee or anything but do be aware of the consequences if you are caught out later. If you lie about anything and get found out then its game over, and if you lie about anything, get halfway through training and something crops up that you have not...

The AACC does not need to make people into bootnecks either. A Serjeant or Captain with four op tours under his belt does not need to go through the same training as a recruit walking off the street. They will have a wealth of experience which can only add to the brigade. There is alot of rubbish wr...

Dont you think its a little early to be worrying about body armour? The stuff you use during training is different to the stuff you actually use on tour. It indeed wont stop a round as you wear it without the plates which can stop a round. When you realise how heavy they are then you will be happy y...
