Thanks for the website link.

It was the crossed rifles on the 1984 Army Recruiting Poster that I seemed to remember seeing.

Incidently, are the other 'trade and proficiency badges' still in use?

RNR Medical Support Assistants

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if the RNR Medical Support Assistant (MSA) is the same job and description as the regular RN Medical Assistant (MA)?

HMS Itchen

Hi

Is there anyone here that has served on HMS Itchen - River Class Minesweeper? She was based at HMS Wessex (RNRTC) at Southampton.

What about Transexuals?

Are they allowed in and if they are, are they female or male, frontline or rear?

You could have a situation whereby a transexual completes the AACC or P-Coy. :o

PS: I am NOT a transexual, before anyone asks.

James

Finish off the last 6 months. You will only regret it in the future.

It gets harder to do as you get older. I am 42 and just about to go back to Uni and I am telling you that it is F***kin hard.

Good Luck with whatever choice you make.

As you know the 'Skipper' whilst at sea has a lot of power, ie: Judge, Jury, Executioner and on small boats/ships is also the 'Doctor'. Remember, the Captain upholds 'The Articles of War' and has a lot more power than their counterparts in the Army and RAF. 'Requestmen and Defaulters' was a formal p...

What do you mean 'can't punish the men anymore'.

No 'Defaulters', No RNDQ's.

What is happening to the RN?

I expect the Truth is, that the Navy has all gone Politically Correct, what with 'Splits' (WRENS) serving on-board ships. No offence!

Please don't say that the Sod's Opera has gone as well! It's the only time that you can take the Piss out of the Officer's and get away with it, including the Skipper.

PS: Do they still call them WRENS? I suppose that's changed as well!

Basically just switch on and stay switched on.
Don't F*** about, you'll get noticed.
Learn Jackspeak, it saves a lot of grief.
Have a good time, it really is fun!
Its only 8 weeks. 1 week admin, etc, 1 week at the end preparing for passing out parade, so its only 6 weeks bullshit.
