I have a lot of time for things like this. "The secret is to make it work for you, in that you do less reps if its above your current level of fitness or you do more if you can." Whilst taking that in to account, may I make a small suggestion. Since you said the guy trains with you (you ne...

Varies mate... Camp circuits are 800m ish and they're sprints... you'll become well acquainted with them. 4 - 5 mile runs with a few sprints thrown in the mix... when you're in the field your training team could lash you up with something cheeky. And there's always 'corrective physical training' whi...

"rappel from a sea king if you want" WHAT!! I don't like heights... Do you have to be good with heights to serve in the SAS? :P Sorry... "Give the guy a break, at least he's keen!" Fair enough, and true, a good attitude will do wonders... But asking those sort of questions will c...

:o This is by far the most entertaining part of these forums. :D

I have a question... I don't like wearing boots... can I wear trainers for the hills instead? Also, can I take my dog on the hills phase? He likes walking...

All responses welcome. :P

I never took it as a contest... Apologies if it looked that way. Just saying that it appears to me that bootnecks need experience to serve in SFSG.

"you can go SFSG straight from training" - Yes, but it is unlikely... Although selection is run on a points system an oppo of mine was thinned out for not having enough experience. Long of the short, you have to be f@#k ninja if you've just passed out.

Special Recconnaisance Regiment

It will be a while before I can get on a briefing course, so I was wondering if a serving / ex serving member of the SRR could PM me some information.

I'm curious about what sort of things the SRR do in Afghan'... And I'd like some general info' on selection please.

Thanks in advance.

It's not a specialisation, it's an additional qualification. Before you can go on your snipers aptitude (selection), you must score as a marksman on your APWT... The course itself is one long ball-ache spent doing things like looking for a whistle in a tree... Not really my thing. You'd be better of...

It's because of the kit you'll be wearing... Webbing, daysack CBA etc. When you move it chaffes, which will aggravate any infection / acne / whatever you've got on that particular area. It may not be severe now, but it probably will be after a good ol' fashioned flanking. You know... The kind with t...
