If there are no vacancies, why are they still running OASC Boards?

The RAF won't run boards for the sake of it.

You won't get a letter saying that you have been Security cleared (at least I didn't) what you will get once its through (assuming this is the last clearance you need to get) is a letter from the Executive Officer at OASC saying that all the arrangements have been finalized for you starting IOT ...

Have you done the full security questionnaire? Because if I remember rightly they not only require you to account for you and your spouses whereabouts since birth, but also that of your parents.

Motivation

I'm going through a rather low point in terms of motivation to train. I started getting shin splints so I eased off the running and during this time my training partner went off to uni and because I live in a small town I haven't been able to find anyone to train with.

Multi engine streams do their EFT then move on to Multi engine lead in (MELIN) and have 30 hours on the firefly. You then go to 45(R) sqn at Cranwell and train on the Beechcraft King Air for 70 hours. Then onto an OCU
