Am I right in thinking that this type of Plutonium (as in spent fuel rods) is not any good for making a nuclear bomb?

Tree Jumping/1960's?
Can anyone verify whether "tree jumping" was ever really practised/used by the forces in jungle operations? According to a mate of mine during the 50/60's soldiers used to jump out of planes/helicopters into trees as parachutes were not available.
