It's 3 miles, which used to be a pass/fail as long as you came in at whatever time the PTI set for the group. Officially 24 minutes but on my PGAc we ran just over 22. However I have it on good authority now that the new format is 1.5 miles with a PTI, in 12 minutes, followed more or less instantly ...

Re: pgac 31 august anyone?

hiya, im doin my pgac 31st august. just wondered if anyone else has got it at same time. also does anyone kno if the pool is fixed yet for pgac? If you're on Facebook, join the RAF Regiment Recruitment group on there, I think there's a few blokes with PGAC on that date. Just take some of the rumour...

Re: are my fitness level's good enough for ADSC?

Would you say my fitness level's are good enough for me to pass adsc? Your press up's and sit up's need work, have a look at this: http://hundredpushups.com/ There is a link for sit up's too. Well done on jacking the smoking in! :D Quality site that, and it really does work as long as you push your...

Best bet is to call your nearest AFCO and ask them as they'll have the most up to date info and be able to answer more specific questions. Whatever you apply for though, expect to wait a while as most branches of the Armed Forces are getting a lot of applicants with the recession, etc. If you really...

No. Soldier's don't smoke. Ever. Or drink  Yes you can apply, don't expect to be able to sneak off for a fag whenever you fancy it though, especially in basics. Yes you can be very fit and smoke at the same time, but if you quit you'll be fitter, not to mention a few quid a day better off, wor...

Tight-fisted and Northern I may be, but faced with the option of spending a few quid, or smearing sh1t on my face I have a good idea which I'd choose!

I'm not sure of the exact rules, but you will have to tell them and it could well kinder your chances, especially as you're hoping for RAF Police. Ring your local AFCO and arrange a time to go in and talk to them about all of this stuff, they'll be able to advise you and give you all the hard facts.

yea thanks, I've been doing press-ups with knees for ages and not bad at them, but I can barely do 2 proper pressups. Have been doing a lot of dips off a chair and dorsal raise etc... have ADSC next month so need to keep on it HRH, try doing pressups with your hands up on a bench or something so th...

Potential Gunner's Acquaintance Course, it's more or less a 3-day fitness assessment for RAF Regiment applicants.

Absolutely no idea. I'd have loved to be a dog handler in the RAF (assume it's similar to the Army role) but I also wanted to do all the Regiment stuff, so it never came to be. BUT - If you give your AFCO a ring or pop in and ask them to find out for you I'm sure they'll give you some info. if they ...

Purely from a speculative position here, please dont take anything from this post as hard fact. So sorry Mr_man_2168 the "budding Mcnabs" will still have to keep hoping! I was being sarcastic mate, of course they're not about to relax the standards just to fill gaps. Considering how many ...
