Generation Kill

Hi Guys, I was reading the metro the other day and saw an article about this series. It's a TV series called "Generation Kill". It's based on the series of articles by a journalist called Evan Wright for Rolling Stone magazine. Wright was embedded with the US Marines during their invasion ...

Sportbilly,

I've not replied, but I do take a minute and read the obituaries. I'm sure there are many in the same boat, so keep it up.

Do a search on it. But what Dinger Bell said is true, you should be able to find good stores liked that all over the place. As for Asics, don't be lured in by the brand. There are other brands which are just as good and will be cheaper, such as Brooks. If it's a good shop, after they've checked what...

Evening Dosser. You'd be surprised how much you can achieve by September. I'll be back in Glasgow by September, but I doubt it'll still be sunny by then (though I hope it is).

That's something good I took out of Michael Asher's book actually, how it rectified the image painted by McNab and Ryan oh Phillips.

And yes, I agree lil Bell.

Dinger - I'm not getting into this as what do I know, but a couple of questions. The parts about "McNab" asking for a ride - was that in Michael Asher's book? And the same with Ryan and the three car convoy? Or were some parts from Asher's book, and others perhaps told to you by the near a...

Just me - why not have a quick look on amazon. Sniper One - a sniper platoon in PWRR, in Iraq (probably the best if you're looking for accounts of action).

To second what AJ said, 3 para and sniper one are definitely books you should go for. Sniper One I thought was amazing, the sort of book you don't want to end but at the same time fly through it. Another one to look out for is "One Bullet Away" by Nathaniel Fick, a very good read about a U...

As we're on the topic of energy drinks, this is one you should all find absurd. My mate works as a PT in a pretty upmarket gym in the city here in Melbourne. The company just made a deal with powerade, who have bought out a new range of drinks. As people walk into the gym, they give them two of thes...

A lot of people overseas class our RMs and Paras as SF because of the way their own militaries distinguish units I think. It's been mentioned before that the US have their different tiers of SF, as do Australia. The commandos here in Australia are classed as special forces, but on a lower tier to th...

Alright Bondy, welcome. The website http://www.mapmyrun.com is a great tool for running outdoors. The only downside is they don't have too many of the tracks in the woods, but if you know where they run on a map you can just plot lines in through it (should make sense when you figure the website out...
