Im no expert but as far as im aware the RM sniper course is one of the hardest around.Im guessing you'll have to be superfit, intelligent in that you'll have to calculate distances, air pressure etc, have unbelievable recce skills in intelligence gathering and concealment etc,and the right mentality to...

I've always found skipping a good warm up,but without your legs there's not much you can do to warm up,maybe try dumbbell swings? If its for strength training as in weights, then just do a few sets with light weights firsts before your proper sets.Whatever you do,do dynamic as opposed to static stretc...

Personally I dont buy into the idea that you can't train sufficiently enough on your own with free weights without the need for a spotter or machine assisted. After all,it all boils down to making that last rep or not,and if you can't make it then then you can't make it:drop the weight slightly and d...

To add to this I've also read about a future liquid body armour that the US are trying to develop which goes rigid when an electric current is applied. As well as nano technology etc giving a soldier huge amounts of strength:The creation of a 'super soldier' so-to-speak.Its all science fiction right ...

I think its a good idea the way they are changing pjft, cos lets face it running on a treadmill is nothing like on the road.I absolutely hate treadmills by the way, always have done;can't get used to running on a floor thats moving under me,and the fact that the belt seems too thin so I somehow seem t...

Just my opinion here, and others might disagree, but doing max sets of anything everyday is a big no no.Your body wont have enough time to recover(I only know of some people who train their abs everyday and these are the most elite of combat athletes, and even they have a day or two off say at the week...

<What he said.If you incorporate some weight training(circuits, plenty reps and sets) then you'll find that you lose weight quicker(while not putting it on in muscle cos you want to be training for lean muscle not bulk),because the extra lean muscle will increase your metabolic rate and you'll burn m...

I haven't been there and done it yet :o I'm glad it sounds like I have though :D I see where you're coming from on the weightlifting thing but like I said bodyweight squats in plenty of reps and sets are ideal to add to your training preparation for PRMC and RT and do definately help with running. I...

It may also benefit you to have some coaching on your running technique.Admittedly I myself have a poor technique, which Im trying to sort out:I seem to slap my feet off the ground which puts alot of pressure on the joints,I waste alot of effort overreaching and alway fatigue my leg muscles before my...

It's true that sprinters do a hell of a lot of weights - they need big explosive muscles that work for 10 seconds. Middle distance runners ( 800/1500)might do a few light weights to keep their form and arms pumping in the last sprint. Long distance runners (5,000/10,000) don't do weights - have you...

Weighted squats wont make much of a noticeable difference but plenty of bodyweight squats will,as its increasing the power and muscular endurace of your legs which will benefit you plenty when running:its like the improvement cyclists get when doing leg weightlifting exercise:they get more power to ...

I'm coming back after a knee injury and am also getting back into my running. My advice would be to concentrate on high reps and circuits including bodyweight squats etc.I've just been getting into crossfit and if you go on their website, they have plenty of videos explaining the various exercises,it'...
