Re: 30 miler vs 20 miler (P-Coy)

No map reading for the 30 miler, apart from officers. Then they do theirs in 7 hours as well, which brings it a bit closer to your calculation of 30miler para speed being 6hrs 45min. So if you take into account map reading, maybe around 15 mins ( :) ) for the 7 hours total? Means same speed as paras...

2 years, job done

Finally managed to pass out of lympstone, after joining summer 2010........ Been a long old trip, 3 separate injuries in the last 6 weeks of training, only to end up at FPG :) Felt awesome getting the lid.

Re: SA80 Cleaning Tips ?

Dentist tool (the one they use to get the bits in between your teeth, long rod with a pointy/angled end), use it to clean the thin ring bit inside the breach, then stuff a few bits of bits of 45x45 in there and give it a scrub around.

Re: Current PRMC as at August 2011,

And an update to all this: NIGHT OUT* On completion of the Endurance Course you’ll move to a location for your ‘night out’ and pick up your dry set of clothing and ‘field kit’. This will either be on Woodbury Common Training Area or back at Lympstone, depending on the time of year and weather. You’l...

Re: Beach walks to prevent blisters?

Did not know it was a commando test. Not surprised they took it off though it wasnt the most difficult thing in the world. Heavier yomps have been harder. Dropped off final ex yomp with a dodgy knee. Huntered :(

Re: Beach walks to prevent blisters?

Recently came off my 12 mile load carry. The skin under my feet is pretty tough from yomping and the miss complains that they are horrible, but still came off with a huge blister under my foot. Then during the rest of the exercise, 2 massively thick layers of skin proceded to peel off from on top of...

Re: Finally Re-joining

Hey Ingram, Nothing could have got better than 946 eh? Left after week 10 for no reason really but always knew I would be back in even when I was leaving. Now living with my girlfriend and her daughter and its pretty difficult to leave them for so long, but its something that has to be done. I start...

To elaborate on the above:
Seems they have re introduced the endurance course to the prmc (getting rid of the determination test or gym test 2? not sure).
The obstacles followed by a 1 mile run, in boots etc.
Should be fun..

And you can have laser eye surgery, depending on what type you choose, some of them bar you from entry. Speak to an afco.

Sounds exactly like how I felt as I was leaving the RM. Knew it was a mistake as I was saying I wanted to leave, 2 years later Ive had a bit of civvie experience which is what I didnt have before I went in and partly left to do, reapplied. Get back in and give it a go. Its your life, make the most o...

They are on summer leave in a bit (or at the moment...), so wont hear much till they get back, they need to send off for my medical documents. Also I think my security clearance will take quite a while, I applied for the TA same sort of time last year, took them 6 months of waiting before I binned i...
