Eczema

Hey.

Quick question really.

I went to the AFCO over 6 months ago, firstly was interested in joining the RAF and then a month later interested in joining the Army.

The Seargent I spoke to in the RAF said that my mild eczema meant that I should stay away from engineering trades but wouldnt be a ...

RMP Question

Hey All.

Quick and weird question regarding TA - RMP, probably linked to the regulars aswell.

I currently serve in Intelligence TA.

I saw the other night some of the TA RMP lads at our barracks kitting up in plain clothes, handcuffs and few things and getting ferried off in a white van.

Do RMP ...

Eczema

Hey All.

I have posted before about joining the Royal Military Police - Army.

I have very mild eczema, although I have not had any eczema for many years, apart from a recent patch on my face, which was actually made worse by some creams the doctor issued.

Anyway, I was told at the AFCO that ...

Hey!

So if I put on my medical forms that I have eczema, would that not automatically barr me then?

Im not worried about sitting a medical as I say im eczema free.

Agreed.

However, I am a keen rock climber and have operated under physically demanding conditions across many continents due to my extreme leisure activites. Never suffering from any problems.

I would not join the Armed Forces if I posed a risk to my fellow colleagues.

Neither would I lie, I ...

Medical Joining Query

As per my post here:-

Would mild eczema prevent me from serving in the TA ?

I have a friend who has real bad eczema and he was accepted into the TA without issue...

Hey.

I have spoken to the AFCO, and they are vague in there response to my questions.

They state that active eczema normally is a barr to entry, however people have entered the armed forces sucessfully with having eczema.

Im assuming there is lots of variables involved ?

Medical Joining Query

Hey All.

This question has probably been asked thousands of times, and I apologise for covering old ground.

I have mild eczema, but have never had any significant problems with it throughout my life.

I have been to the doctor about it twice only in my life. He gave me some cream and it healed in ...
