Drop Tom Cruise? That's got to be even more difficult than sinking an aircraft carier. Look at what he does in Mission Impossible. Combine that with what he does in The Last Samurai. That man is a killing machine.

I went down to the Ginkel Heath (where they do the jump each year) yesterday and it was absolutely marvelous. Indeed, hats off the veterans who did their jump again, not sure everyone of them would agree it was their final one though! Went to the cemetery afterwards and that's always a place that br...

I just read "Inside Delta Force" by Eric Haney, one of the founding members of Delta Force. Apparantly selection is a series of marches over hilly train, individual with a bergen. They march from one RV to another, not knowing when it will end or what the time limit is. It ends with a 40-m...

Redhand, both of those are not an option, simply because of the media. How can you ever justify letting the civillian population starve?
We should simply train the Iraqi Army and police and in a year or two, give total control to them if they are ready.

Swim training

I went out for a swim yesterday for the first time in years, I was a fairly strong swimmer in my early teens. Does anyone know a decent swim workout? Right now I just go out and swim for 40 mins which is alright, but probably not very effective.

Yeah, could be. I do regular sit-ups every now and then as well, because that's what they'll test you with. I also do leg raises sometimes, to train the lower abs.

I do the same thing, except I pull my knees to my chest at the same time (creating a scissor-like movement). Not sure what that's called though.

This must be the nightmare for any CT unit; around a thousand children and adults locked in a tight space. I wonder if any of the western CT units would have done any better. Apparantly some of the weapons and explosives were already stashed in the school before the situation started. They also had ...
