you can't have done the real good stuff in the first few weeks. I'm in the ta not the regs, but i suppose the ta selection is a day of beasting to weed out the real mongies who just wanted a doss at the weekend, we didn't really learn anything at the selection weekend (why should you, it's an assess...

Re: Recruit selection day at Exeter
Cheers for that buddy. The recruitment Sjt at Glos TA told me that we only go down to exeter for the day. Travel fri night then do everything on sat, come back the sat night. Has this changed recently then. He said medicals are now done at unit before you even go on a RSD. Bloody hell we came back ...

I read that in Soldier Mag too. We did a 8 day OP in Iraq and the amounted of water alone that had to be carried in was mental. But to be honest with ofspray body armour, and other bits of kit thats constantly being thrown at us. The weight being carried on OPs is going up and up. Going back to the...

Ha Ha doc thats ace!   it does look a bit precarious *spelling* never noticed it before  I wouldn't lie/neglect to divulge conditions on the old medical though as it could come back and bite you right in the ass. which would more than likely lead to you being given the boot. I...

Just checked out the army jobs website and it appears the armoured engineer can only specialise as an army diver. A communications engineer can do the aacc, p coy, bomb disposal, diver. And it looks like the other trades in the RE that require GCSE's of some sort can all go on to do the aforemention...

I'm considering the RE as i think it's a good mix of front line and not so front line if you know what i mean :-? I'm going for armoured engineer as it gets you out there to see some action, but don't quote me on this but i think you can concentrate on the combat engineer side of things. You can al...

I don't see why people say 'Oh don't worry about it, we've all done it' in such a blahzay manner. Whenever I go out and get drunk i certainly don't become violent and i think people merely use drink as an excuse to make there stupid neandethol actions acceptable. I'm not in the forces yet but have e...

I put my goretex in the inside zip pouch under the top flap. Obviously this isnt extensive but they are the main things I feel. I hope thi...
