Would that be exactly the same role as the two Para Battalions in the Brigade... Helicopter Assault Troops (HATs :D). As for the Paras always being the first in, the Paras are going to have more shots at being Spearhead Lead Element what with having 3 out of the dozen or so Light Role battalions... ...

I know of a TA Chunky Squadron that was mobilised as a whole unit for Telic 2/3 in the force protection role that included women. Maybe there aren't any women serving with the regular equivilant units but it's allowed according to the blurb on the army careers site http://www.army.mod.uk/careers/eng...

Don't get me wrong here I have no problem with gays, but I think it's a bit dangerous allowing them into the military. Let's say two gay guys get deployed into the same company, and start to form some kind of relationship. Could this not have a seriously detrimental effect on someones judgement? No...

1st Battalion Info

You twat, I've passed selection for the Paras and I've got a place at the AFC. I believe I've got the intelligence to become an officer so I'm staying on to pursue further education. Try and compare your NVQ level 2 in Security Guarding to my A Levels. Edited for grammar. More to being an officer t...

So you'd have: 3x Rifle Section, each with: 2x Riflemen 2x UGL 2x Minimi 2x LSW 1x Support Section Section Cmdr 2x GPMG (light role) 2 Riflemen (gunner no 2s) Possibly a 51mm mortarman (although wor...

There is the new DEPO (direct entry potential officer) which has been running for a year or two now. You do all your initial training with other potentials from your brigade area, then the TACC at Sandhurst before even seeing your unit. Go to http://www.ta.mod.uk and register interest in becoming an...

I discretely looked into it myself a while back and was basically told don't hold your breath unless you have a family connection to the regiment (note, most of their officers are whities who hail from these fair isles). Otherwise it's a good idea to do a bit of traveling in Nepal, learn the languag...
