Right, I left this post to see where it went, and basically it has gone the wrong way. I don't plan on skipping any training at all by having martial arts knowledge. Where did you get that idea from? And does anyone know if there is a Royal Marines martial arts team or are they part of the Navy team...

I managed to get level 13 on my PRMC. I could have gone for longer (don't know how much, but longer), but level 13 was the highest level required so the tape was stopped. I mostly train cross country at about 7min/mile pace with sprints added (about 100m each time). I either run a 5 mile circuit or ...

Nice one mate, what time train are you getting and where from?
I didn't think PRMC candidates and recruits were allowed to show up on the same day. Oh well.

Might see you there.

GOOD LUCK! Just keep going.

Hello Lee. I went to the south of France on an adventure holiday with school and did an 80ft abseil which had a 60ft overhang. I didn't have gloves on though so I couldn't go very fast and ended up with black palms. I've also done the usual wall climbing thing that just about everyone has done. It's...

Gunn, why do you not want to use weights? Is it that you're young and don't want to stunt any growth or that you don't have the money and/or space for weights? I guess you could use the weights at the gym if you wanted to. In an old issue of Men's Health, there was a pure workouts book that had ' ho...

I phoned up my AFCO with the same problem and was told to cross out the 'cms' and just put 'size 9' . It doesnt actually matter too much because you just grab the boots from the cupboard, try them on (properly, with socks and all), and if they fit, take them. Same goes for the clothing - 2 combat tr...

What sense of the word "special" do you mean?

Is it normal to find jumping out of a plane enjoyable?

Anyone heard more recently whether you're on this course? I'm training hard and earning a bit of cash at a mate's pub at the moment. I've put on a bit of muscle too as I was advised to "eat more scran" and put a bit of weight on. I'm half a stone heavier than on the PRMC. Keep up the train...

JR, no sprog is ever old enough to bear the shock. She'll never forgive you and may possibly gain a complex about flags on her birthday.
Either that or she'll find it funny and get her own back one day.

Congratulations mate, well played. I know what you mean about the feeling when you get your boots, it's great. And it's not a "cheeky warm-up", it's a "b*st*rd beasting". I was lucky with the weather on my PRMC, cloud cover but still warm. Do you know when you start basic? Or do ...
