I cant believe someone is telling me cycling is as good as running, its LAUGHABLE! F&*King moron. Ive had it with this place. If you are new to this site and looking for information regarding training then have a look for some threads made by the older members last year (langorroti (sp?) and ot...

Care to quote me on saying 'running isn't as good as cycling'? Thankyou, you just proved my point. 6 (12) miles of riding is NOTHING, you need to ride vast distances on a bike to get fitter Again this proves you don't know what you are talking about. Obviously you will need more than 5minutes of pro...

In basic training you do a lot of load carrying / speed marching. Do you do this in your training in preparation for your PRMC? To get passed the PRMC you just need to have a reasonably good level of fitness with a heck of alot of determination, and believe me mental strength/determination plays a H...

Agree with the lower resting heart rate for cyclists (however, note that this is at elite level ie Tour de France standard so you can consider many of those cyclists as gentic freaks), however, the highest VO2 max scores have been attributed to cross country skiers and runners not cyclists If you a...

Cycling/running are just as intense as each other if you put the effort in

Yeh I totally agree because I have heard that for every three miles or so on the bike is like one mile running so I think it would be beneficial to add a little bit of cycling but dont start replacing running days with cycling days unless you feel you arent fully recovered from your injury. Sorry b...

Im sorry but how can you say running is far better than cycling? Care to explain to me why that having my heart rate at 95% of its max while on my bike is any different than the same HR while running? Except ofcourse that there is far less impact and therefore less chance on an injury occuring. I wo...

Klink: Some people take part in fitness training because they like it. I really enjoy cycling and im moving out to Majorca in April so I can do serious training before returning in a year or two to join the Royal Marines. I am also finally able to start running again after a very long layouf because...

It was a cyclist named Inderan. Apparently free divers have a very low resting heart rate. They can lower it to around 15-20 bpm. A good book about yoga could be useful when learning about the pranayama and how to control breathing. The purpose of using yoga and other relaxation techniques all focus...

I think average is 60 and at the moment mine is 48. Nice one on getting 44! Some Tour de France riders have it around 30. Remember hearing about someone with 28 :o :o

im sorry but 2500 in 10minutes on a rower is not a good sign to say you have a good level of CV fitness. That is only 2mins/500meters and that really is nothing special! Pretty poor actually.

Getting 1:45/500m for around 4000 meters would be something better to aim for.

For the week approaching the PRMC you should taper your training workload. This means simply reduce the amount that you are doing e.g. half the distance in each session. Then allow yourself 2/3 days of complete rest or if you must exercise then do some walking or gentle swim with sauna/steam room. G...

Once again things like this have been posted many times before. Why not just use the search function at the top?! Or are you just too lazy and want someone else to do it for you?
