Para Regt. Specializations

As a Para can you specialize in a trade, such as bomb disposal or driving or is that left to the RE?

I think what he means is he did his 1.5 in under 9.18 making him eligiable for the Paras although he intended on going for the Scotts Guards.

Look up both regiments mate and make ur mind up accordingly.

Would Paras who are part of the SFSG get SF pay?

And do the other regiments and corps who serve with the Paras (Engineers, Signals etc) get deployed with SFSG?

Hello bud, its a tough question to answer because I'm not in the army yet, but in all honesty I can imagine you might be at the forefront of some abuse because of your sexuality, just as you are (unfortunatly) in every day civilian life.

Maybe you should try some gay-orientated websites and post on ...

Keep on going mate, my first 1.5 time was just over 15 minutes, and I've been shaving minutes/seconds off each time I run, I'm now around the 11 minute mark.

What I found helps was rarther than doing the 1.5 miles at a slower average pace, cut it down by half (0.75 miles) and run it at a higher ...

Evenin' Bud!

Training 3 times a week is sufficient mate, get to know your muscle groups and train them equally, training two muscle groups per session (consisting of a large muscle group and smaller muscle ie chest and triceps)

for example

MON - chest, triceps, legs.
TUES - rest.
WED - back ...

Mate, if I were you I'd probably just give up on the idea on even attempting P Coy or the Commando Course, if 12.50 is the best you can offer for a BFT. Obviously your fitness will improve once you join the army, but that is way below even the most basic of fitness standards that will be required ...

24 Cdo Regt (59) or 9 Sqn RE (para) dont drive stuff like that in their respective units.

If you join 24 commando you can apply for recce troop in which if selected you will have to pass pcoy and jump training. Lots of 9 Sqn and 24 lads cross over and earn both ad quals.

Ah I see, so as an RE ...

So its possible for me to join the Marines or Paras and go on to train as something more specific, ie. Driving etc?

I thought once your a Marine or a Para your just a sort of elite infantry who's used purely in combat, but it seems I'm wrong.

I'm looking to join the Armed Forces ASAP as I need a ...

Davo thanks for your reply, it's cleared a few things up for me. :)

I was initialy planning on joining the Infantry, but after speaking to a few military and ex-military men I realised that while most of them have different opinions on the Army, all of them advised against the infantry on the ...

The Real Bravo Two Zero - Michael Asher

Anybody read this? Just finished it and it's a very good read. Asher (Ex-SAS) re-traces the foot-steps of the Brazo Two Zero patrol and sheds light on the inaccuracies of Andy McNab and Chris Ryan's literature.
