AFCO presentation next week
Hey guys,
I'm going for my officer presentation at the AFCO next week, and basically I'm just wondering what to expect. I'm not deadset on any specific role within the RAF yet (although I have aspirations towards intelligence, and I could be talked into anything which I like the sound of) Will the ...

If you look at 16-18 education, many people complete their courses and still get Us in their exams. At uni if you completed the course you would have to try very hard to fail. very nice touch but it is off the point a bit, the argument was that people with degrees have more chance of becoming an officer than people without and I am arguing that they don't, not about the point of degrees.
Well, this whole line of argument is 'off the point', seeing as this is my thread ...

i c your point but it wud never boil down to just qualifications, they are just bits of paper which u pay a lot of money for. I have never met any 1 that has completed a uni course and not got a degree. If you pay the money then you get a degree - the RAF know this as well!

I think it's kind of irrelevant that we don't have as many ships as we did in WW2 for example as the nature of warfare has changed dramatically. There is a reason why we don't have huge capital ships anymore, it's not all about budgetary cuts. They were becoming obselete in World War 1, and were ...

I must admit, I met a lot of arseholes when I was in the ATC. There was a lot of 'little Hitler' type people, who got a tiny little bit of authority and thought they were Stalin or something...one NCO in particular made my life a bit of a misery until I learnt to stand up for myself. That's one good ...

Hey there, thought I'd better introduce myself..
I'm Darryl, 21, from just outside of Basildon in Essex. Just finished a degree in history at Royal Holloway in Surrey, in which I got to specialise in the stuff that interests me most, i.e. 20th century political/military history :) I've always been ...

I was in 1582 Stanford-Le-Hope (near Basildon) squadron...I used to really enjoy it, but our numbers eventually just dwindled away to nothing until there was only about three of us left, and all we did was clean the floor each time we met up :P I was just getting into heavy metal at the time too and ...
