It's best effort hun. It's for the heaves, static lift and another type of lift. AFCO should have a DVD for you to watch before you go up and we were also given a booklet with what we would need to take with us and the itinerary for the two days Hey, so is the best effort test a pass/fail? I'm stro...

I was told that your results for the BARB test are put together with the qualifications you already have and then they are able to work out what jobs you are eligible for.
I got given my results and had them explained too, I thought it was out of so many but I was told, 'attempted __ got ___ correct'

There was a specific reason but the AFCO said that it didn't make sense and so thinks that I have good reason to appeal, just going to see how it goes I guess.

The AFCO have told me they want me to appeal too. Determination or not though if I can't pass the medical I'm not going to get in, I mean everyone has a right to appeal don't they. Going to keep training and see what happens when I get my letter next week and have spoken to doctor. I took today off ...

No worries goodwin. I failed anyway. On medical grounds. I've been told I can appeal, AFCO want me to go see them tomorrow. The reasons/explanation wasn't too clear so not quite sure how I'd manage to appeal.

Good luck with your interview Adam, it's not like most job interviews so don't worry!

I'm off to selection tomorrow, a little nervous but mostly looking forward to it, I think.

How are you getting on Becci, is the knee any better?

Oooh, do I dare make a comment about placement of an apostrophe :o

I'm a little covered in bruises, I won't get asked about them will I? I mean, the medical is just to check that you're fit enough to do ADSC isn't it?

I thought they were ok as long as they weren't on face, hands or neck and weren't offensive?

I'll be going to Scotland for selection, I'm a bit nervous actually, I'm sure when I've done some more training I'll be fine.
Good luck with the nursing

What surface are you running on Becci? My application is going well, had to run and do press ups and sit ups last week, I didn't think I'd done that well but I'm being put for selection in the next few weeks. My training is going to be a little off this week though, I got a tattoo down my side today...

Went to this thing today, wasn't a club but an assesment. Still very well organised and something I will return to. It went like this, this time anyway - Arrive, warm-up, 1.5m run, pressups max 2min, situps max 2min and home. Lasted an hour if not a bit more, definetly worth going mind. Is this som...

Thank you so much for the advice guys, just what I needed to know. I actually called in to the office earlier and mentioned this to them, I was told to just work on my sit ups, press ups and running and I'd be fine. The thing is, I've read somewhere that in ADSC you have to lift about 55kg, this isn...
