Re: Where's the Forum gone?

Hello again, I am still unpacking, but I relocated from Spain last month. I left Blighty a couple of years ago and became so busy I nearly disappeared up my own thingy. Anyway, I'm back now and still very busy. I hope I can make interesting contributions to the forum... glad to be back. Best, Chris.

What does anyone think about the reasons behind the political correct brigade raving about Harry and his dad using the words 'Paki' and 'Sooty'? Is this yet another pop at our monarchy by the 'enemy within'? I think so. I remember when 'Fanny' was a girls name and most black dogs were called an offe...

Blood for babies.

My wife and I responded to a written request from the Donor people. My missus' blood is A neg and when I asked the nurse about if the blood is sold by the Red Cross, she told me my wife's blood is required by Brit Baby Units and most certainly is not given to the Red Cross to flog for profit. She di...

This could be a very tongue-in-cheek question regarding 'good taste', especially with recent casualties. Anyway, I'll give you my opinion. No 1 might sell down at Lympstone but No 2 may cause a raised eyebrow. This is nothing to do with gung-ho or machismo, I am merely thinking about your 'good tast...

Help with nomenclature.

I have a problem with a publisher's proof-reader; he states, 'The terms 'Q' and 'Q-staff' were invented by Ian Fleming for the James Bond books and did not enter military 'speak' until the 1980s', thus causing a possible copyright issue for me. Also, Alanbrooke Barracks in Paderborn, Germany is an A...

My books are a deterrant for anyone even thinking of misbehaving in France and Spain. Even being on holiday any lads getting drunk and breaking a window etc, can end up in prison next to murderers or worse. There are no categories in these places. Also, I hope that one young lad in prison reads my b...

Prison talk.

Hi guys, I don't know if you can get City Talk Radio on 105.9, or even if anyone would be interested at the ungodly hour of 0200hrs on Tuesday. But, I am doing a 1-hour talk on the treatment of prisoners in French and Spanish prisons. Apparently, people have become interested and latched on to the f...

Book signing jitters

Of all the things I've done, nothing has fazed me like this has. I have read many times that book signings are a waste of time and effort. My books have been on the market for 3 years and I have never done a signing. That is about to change because on the first weekend of October I am doing my first...

How about Ray Winstone? Probably need some one younger, but must be good to be on par with the book.
