Great post there Ashley. Like Ashley, I too got injured for a long period of time...saw mates who I passed PRMC with earn their green beret...whilst all the while sat at home nursing the hip injury I got. Let me tell you, that really gets you down thinking you could be there with them. I then got ov...

Thanks lads. Good to see you again. My injury is 'nearly' gone (though I said that last time didnt I!). I'm not 100% sure if I am going to go back yet. I'd like to, but I would have to do PRMC and RT all over again. We'll see though as I would still love to earn that Green Beret even after all these...

Good luck 930 troop

Hello, I guess a lot of you newer lads won't know me as I havent been on here in ages, but I thought I'd come back and say best of luck to my mates in 930 troop who are due to do their commando tests soon. You'll find when you start RT it is easier that PRMC (that was the general feeling from my troop) and they build you up. But obviously, it is good if you go there fit and ready. I would definetely do some half mile to a mile very fast (almost sprint) runs to prepare you for camp circuits. Also squat...

Hate to put a downer on it mate, but for a mountain leader you need to be at least a corporal I'm afraid (please correct me if I'm wrong lads). I'd imagine for Swimmer/Canoeist (SBS) you'd need to have served in the Corps for a certain amount of time before your senior puts in for you to do it. MP s...

Nice one mate. Good training regime there. One thing I would recommend is yes, still do the occasional long run, but to be honest, in the 5 weeks I was in RT, we only did one 3 miler. Things I would recommend training for prior to RT is press ups, sit ups and pull ups (like you are doing), sprints (...

Or do we get a nice new photo shoot for it? hahaha Kyle (KJ) Yeah you get new photos taken when you're down there for...

You'll have a dentist appointment when you first start RT, they will check out your teeth and if you need it they will do it. So I reckon they will do it for you, but n guarantees. They was gonna take out a tooth of mine but I got MD'd before it was gonna happen :)

Yep, like Darren said, you have good scores there mate. Are you doing the push ups etc with correct form?
Do you do sprint training too? If not, throw some of that in too.

daveb i think that ptis got the record for press ups in a minute. hows the injury? It's crap mate, still hurting a fair bit. One minute I'd think it would be improving, but then it would ache again real bad. Still waiting on an orthopeadic appointment for it. How's 930 mate? How many have left so f...
