Sorry but I have to say something here, If you pass out with the RMR while at Uni it will be looked on FAR more favourably than doing your time in the OTC. It is difficult for a reason! Clashes with uni etc do happen but guys are doing it all the time so it is far from impossible to balance both, al...

You do not even get para pay in Recce Troop always anymore. As for having markedly different pay between Para/Marine and regular army i am not saying that at all but i do think that there should be something. A GD Marine earning 12k while out on the ground in Afghan really is a sorry state of affair...

I can see in a way what he is trying to get at. An SF trooper can earn in the range of £30k a year , of course you would assume he was already an experienced soldier and earning a decent wage but still because of doing this course he is entitled to more pay? Seeing as how much action everyone across...

Yup, All the commando tests are exactly the same. However with the 2 week course being so compressed you do not get a rest day like the regular recruits do on the sunday. RMR - sat, Endurance sun, 9 Miler, Mon, Tarzan, Tue, 30 Miler Regs - sat, Endurance, Sun, Rest, Mon, 9 miler, Tue, Tarzan, Wed, 3...

To be honest mate, your only really sure of a year as a grav before more than likely you will get pinged to do something, whether thats a driver, chef, sig or whatever. And yes for ML or PTI you need to be a Cpl or at least be on the list so that would mean you being a LCpl about to do his juniors. ...

Right, Yes you can wear your wings during training if you get them. However there is a lot of things to bear in mind before plumping for 4 Para. First of all expect a healthy dose of slagging at the least for being a perce B*stard. Secondly even though you may be able to pass all the necessary weeke...

Just seems to me a bit odd, that on an RMR forum you would be basically telling people to consider not to join. I understand what you are saying about unique opportunities while at uni, however i would say that being in the RMR gives you far greater opportunities in some areas than you would get fro...

I was led to believe that you could not serve with the RMR if you were a special Constable. May be worth checking if you are in the position. Cheers K And just for the record it is very do-able, doing Uni and RMR as we had a large number of students on our RFCC, all from different universities study...
